Few nonneoplastic diseases carry the devastating psychological impact that is associated with leprosy. The authors of this book have attempted to present a concise update of the clinical picture, taxonomy, pathophysiology, and management of leprosy in order to dispel many popularly held misconceptions about the disease. In their introductory paragraphs they spell out their goal of reaching the "non-leprologist." The logical market for this publication would seem to be internists or house officers who are seeking information that is not included in standard textbooks of dermatology or medicine.
