Dr. Sullivan has organized this textbook on the basis of a syllabus prepared for teaching renal physiology to medical students. His audience is medical students and physicians who are several years away from basic science courses. The text is organized clearly, progressing in a logical route from basic principles through a well-ordered succession of topics: glomerular filtration, tubular secretion, renal circulation, and, finally, electrolyte and acid-base regulation.
The text is well illustrated with tables and figures that are particularly good in teaching quality. References are at the end of the text and will be of value to the generalist rather
