Two general physicians, two surgeons, a psychiatrist, and an anesthesiologist have combined their efforts to produce this small volume devoted to the treatment of chronic pain. In the foreword, the editor notes that the book is intended primarily for general practitioners and medical students in their final years of training. Accordingly, breadth of coverage is emphasized, and there is very limited detailed discussion of any single topic. There is some overlap, as can be expected in any multiple author work, but this has been kept to a minimum.
