During this quarter-year the "Drug Spotlight" is focused on antacids and anticholinergic drugs. Because these agents are most commonly used in peptic ulcer disease, our questions are directed primarily to their use in that disorder. These questions are offered to hospital pharmacy and therapeutics committees to suggest one or more points that they might wish to review in their study of drug therapy in their own hospitals.
1. What was the frequency of dosage and the timing in relation to meals of the antacids used?
2. Were the buffering capacity and the sodium content of the antacids appropriate to each
