This monograph presents in detail a systematic evaluation of liver
function. It should be distinguished from the textbook that serves as a basis of instruction or source of
reference. The casual student of liver disease will find it useful. Undoubtedly the medical student will use it
as a review of the basic curriculum and learn that it provides some perspective for the clinical years. In this
respect, Eli Lilly has contributed to the hepatology curriculums.
Busy practitioners (non-gastroenterologists and hepatologists) will readily profit from a brief encounter
