It may seem strange to consider timely the publication of an atlas devoted exclusively to gross pathology, but that is the case with this book. Becaue of the great amount of activity associated with computerized axial tomography (CT scan) in neurology and neurosurgery today, this is an era when neuroradiologist, neurologist, and neurosurgeon must relearn, or learn anew, gross neuropathology. Even though most of the specimens depicted in this book are not dissected in the plane currently displayed by the CT scan, there are a variety of dissection techniques, many useful diagrams, and an emphasis on the fundamental mechanisms for
