In a field that suffers somewhat from lack of an adequate number of reference works, this monograph will find a prominent place. As its title suggests, this relatively brief book attempts to review critically the world literature on coal workers' pneumoconiosis and other respiratory diseases to which coal miners are subject. The authors have fairly thoroughly reviewed and summarized most of the high quality research that was carried out in Europe and Britain, research that antedated efforts in the United States by more than 25 years.
Dr. Zahorski and his contributors meticulously, perhaps to a fault, attempt to review both
