Report of the relatively short-term study carried out at the Department of Psychiatry, Boston City Hospital, after a request by the National Commission on Marihauna and Drug Abuse for data on chronic use of marihuana. The main conclusion was that "acute and repeat dose marihuana administration did not alter the recreational, physical, and operant work patterns of subjects" in a three-week period (shorter pre- and postdrug periods). Motivational patterns were not affected but the investigators note that findings in this study may not be applicable to the question of "dropping out" as a consequence of chronic heavy use of marihuana.
