The limits of any system are difficult to define, and the endocrine system is no exception. Here we have an excellent review in depth of some aspects of endocrine physiology. The selection of topics seems to be the expanding areas, with the main emphasis on the hypothalamus and pituitary. The role of glucagon and the hormonal control of sodium and bone minerals are covered, but the thyroid and adrenal glands and the control of insulin secretion are not considered in detail.
