In the introduction to this collection of seven essays by different authors on miscellaneous topics in immunobiology, the editor, a prominent immunobiologist, has appropriately assessed that this book is not intended to ". . . give a comprehensive view of . . . developments in immunology, [but] . . . to highlight certain areas of lymphoid cell biology which are given less attention in current thinking . . . [and to discuss] important topics of transplantation and tolerance [that] are looked at from points of view which are somewhat less conventional."
