This book comprises 12 chapters by 16 authors in a detailed review of this vitamin. Early chapters consider the physical and chemical properties of flavins and various methods of analysis. Reviews of the absorption, metabolism and dietary aspects are followed by consideration of the effects of riboflavin deficiency occurring clinically, experimentally, or by antagonist induction. These several chapters—which are likely to be the only ones of interest to most clinicians—reveal that little new information on clinical aspects of the vitamin have been forthcoming in recent years.
