In the guyton tradition this monograph examines the physiologic characteristics and controlling factors of the body fluid system more extensively than standard physiology textbooks do. This is accomplished by integrating classic concepts in body fluid physiology with the results of recent experimental investigations.
As suggested by its title the monograph divides functionally into two sections. The first deals extensively with the dynamics of body fluids and encompasses roughly two thirds of the text.
