Professor Biörck is of that small and remarkable international group of men who helped to put the epidemiology of coronary heart disease on the map some 25 years ago. His influence was all the greater, as in the case of Paul Dudley White, because he is primarily a distinguished cardiologist. What he believes now, after many a summer, is put forth in his two "Lilly Lectures" at Oxford and in London, in an eminently readable and attractive style and with the superior command befitting the Professor of Medicine at the Karolinska Institutet.
