In their directions to their 25 other contributors, Suki Eknoyan requested "original research data and collections of personal clinical observations." The result is an uneven series of chapters that do not fullfill the needs of general internists and nephrologists. The section on collagen disease is too spotty and incomplete to warrant the inclusion of an eight-page chapter devoted mainly to Roger Rossen's investigative work on antiglobulins and glomerulonephritis.
