Only a decade or two ago, one would have been hard pressed to find a textbook with more than a dozen pages on the conduction system of the heart. It is, therefore, remarkable that this magnificent textbook has more than 700 pages. It is the outgrowth of a closed workshop on the conduction system, which was held in the University Department of Cardiology, Wilhelmina Gasthuis, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
