This is the first of a series of surgical atlases for physicians who diagnose and treat surgically correctable disorders. The Manual of Endocrine Surgery is written mainly for the benefit of general surgeons. It therefore excludes topics related to surgically treatable diseases of the pituitary gland. The book is divided into four sections: surgery of the parathyroids, thyroid, adrenals, and pancreas. Each section deals systematically with practical aspects of surgical anatomy, physiology and biochemistry, gross and microscopic pathology, and diagnosis and treatment of commonly observed surgically treatable endocrine diseases.
