The third edition of Roentgenologic Diagnosis has continued the expansion evident in the second edition and includes some 300 additional radiologic illustrations, a largely rewritten text, a substantial number of additional references, and a new section of 49 pages in which basic roentgen signs are presented with approximately 100 illustrations. The first three pages of this section are an index of the principle signs, and there is at least one illustration for each sign. In principle, this new section might have become the backbone of the two-volume set, but it suffers from a lack of introductory and explanatory prose and
