The threat of a malpractice suit and the rising cost of malpractice insurance are topics of concern to most American physicians. Because the malpractice experience in the United Kingdom (very low insurance premiums, few malpractice claims) has been very different from that in the United States, the Royal Society of Medicine of England and the Royal Society of Medicine Foundation, Inc., of New York sponsored a conference to exchange professional information and ideas among persons concerned with medical malpractice.
This book reports the proceedings of that conference. Five content areas are discussed: history, development, and current position; major current problems;
