To the editor: In our view, the editorial note "Fallout at Three Mile Island" in your September 1979 issue (1) is an example of the systematic bias towards underestimation of the risks of nuclear power production that we criticized in our editorial in your March 1979 issue (2) and in our comment on a letter in your August 1979 issue (3).
The editorial note states: "The combined maximal thyroidal dose [to young children from iodine-131 released at Three Mile Island] is 1000 times smaller than the lowest dose ever associated with any increase in human thyroid disease." Surely the editorial
