Three of the six detailed reviews in this collection are clinically useful surveys worth the attention of physicians not familiar with the recent developments they cover: the chapters on metabolism in obesity and anorexia nervosa (G.F. Cahill, Jr., T.T. Aoki, and A.A. Rossini), clinical and psychiatric aspects of obesity (H. Bruch), and the psychology and treatment of anorexia nervosa (H. Bruch). The other chapters on dietary precursors of neurotransmitters, megavitamin therapy in relation to the nervous system, and dietary factors needed for monomine synthesis are concerned mainly with research matters.
