There is much useful information here for an undergraduate course in primary care, family practice, or public health. The tables and figures, include most of the pressing agenda that confronts modern medicine.
The author's enthusiasm about the family practice movement during the past decade may be inferred from the title; residency programs, board certification, and academic departments of family practice medicine have contributed to the drift back toward primary care and the generalist approach. The reader's enthusiasm, however, may not be encouraged by the title, which is tendentious and not entirely true. The use of the words "foundation" and "changing"
