Both books are primers and are directed to physicians, house officers, and students needing a concise and practice-oriented text on the main clinical problems in hematology and related oncology. Guide to Hematologic Disorders, with 21 chapters by authors in the Baltimore-Washington region, is rather more academic than Hematologic Disorders, which, with its more forthright approach to clinical procedure and slightly lower price, is the better buy of the two.
