Sir Douglas Black, this time with D. Norman Jones, has done it again. The fourth edition of Renal Disease, just as its predecessors, is a superb book. In the preface to the first edition of the book, Sir Douglas states, "This is not an elementary book on renal disease. . . . The underlying intention . . . is to indicate the present views, and to some extent the outlook, of men who have made significant contributions to various aspects of our knowledge of renal disease." This aim is accomplished in admirable fashion in the latest edition.
