Thirty chapters are given to concise, authoritative, and well-referenced reviews of the basic and clinical pharmacology of the main antihypertensive drugs used in North America and abroad. Discussions of clinical use are brief and many of them are inadequate for guidance in practice. W. B. Abrams reviews the stepped-care method of drug therapy for hypertension. Not recommended for smaller clinical libraries.
