This slim book is not a masterpiece nor a work of art. It is an honest statement of the experience of a superspecialist. Ben Senturia is an otolaryngoloist who for almost 30 years spanned the clinical gap between his specialty and dermatology. He learned all there is to know about the external ear. In 1957 he wrote a classic monograph on the subject, which gradually was replaced by more thorough and extensive textbooks. Now, at age 70, he and some friends recapitulate for us in a manual designed for "all physicians involved in the treatment of external ear diseases." And
