This is a time-tested classic on peripheral vascular disease, and the new edition does justice to a proud tradition. Overall the style is readable, indeed almost conversational, and the scope is comprehensive. All the contributors are from the Mayo Clinic; the editors practice internal medicine, and other specialists including surgeons, neurologists, radiologists, and anesthesiologists have contributed chapters. There is thus a broad and balanced presentation of topics for the practicing physician, surgeon, resident-in-training, and senior medical student.
The editors appropriately lament the cursory exposure given to this discipline in our medical schools today. This lack is particularly distressing as we
