By definition, reviews of areas that are currently under active investigation suffer from the inability to include the most recent information. A good example of this problem can be found in reviews of herpes simplex virus infections. This monograph, prepared by a distinguished Yugoslavian pediatrician along with colleagues of the medical faculty of the University of Rijeka, is a careful compilation of clinical experience with herpes simplex virus infections.
