The author is a visiting physician and director of the coronary care unit of Cook Hospital, Gisborne, New Zealand. The current book is an expansion of his 1975 book, The Highways of Electrocardiography. Both books were developed from tutorials and lectures given to the staff of Cook Hospital's coronary care unit. The current book is intended to be an introduction to the subject for medical students, house staff, nurses, and technicians.
