To the editor: The comparative review (1) of Gray's Anatomy and Cunningham's Textbook of Anatomy on page 249 of your August 1981 issue is a review of the British edition of Gray's Anatomy though you fail to note that fact. The American edition of Gray's Anatomy has been published since June 1859 by Lea & Febiger. It is currently in its 29th edition, and is the book with which generations of American physicians are familiar.
The differences between the British and the American editions are enormous. For starters, we would point out that the American edition sells for $32.50 and
