With the increasing importance of the receptor concept for explaining physiologic function and pathologic diseases, the arrival of this book is timely and useful for those involved in clinical research and students in medical or biomedical science. The book is divided into four sections: general consideration; cell surface receptors for peptides and small molecules; anti-receptor antibodies and autoimmune diseases; and cell surface and intracellular receptors. It covers a broad range of disease related to the receptor concept.
