To the editor: Medsger and associates (1) recently reported six patients with palmar fasciitis and polyarthritis associated with ovarian carcinoma. I wish to describe a patient with a history of three different carcinomas, none ovarian, who developed a similar syndrome.
A 65-year-old woman was hospitalized in June 1982. In November 1980, she had a resection of a grade 1 papillary transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder. In December 1980, an undifferentiated small cell carcinoma of the lung was found. There were no metastases and treatment was begun with combination chemotherapy and prophylactic radiotherapy to the brain. In February 1982, an
