To the editor: Confusion on the distinction between Lev's and LeNegre's syndromes of cardiac conduction defects is a persistent problem for many students of internal medicine.
To review the subject, I consulted a definitive reference, the new edition of The Heart edited by Hurst and associates (1), which recently was reviewed in this journal by D.I. Peretz (1982;97:470-1). I found only a single reference to LeNegre's disease after the chapter on "Recognition of Arrhythmias and Conduction Abnormalities" by Henry J.L. Marriott and Robert J. Myerburg. Apparently the authors were unable to clarify the matter; the paper cited and attributed to
