The high subscription rate recently imposed on Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) means that most of the thousands of physicians who had received, free of charge, these important reports of new syndromes, recommendations on immunization, and other information indispensable to good practice will be deprived of this service. Perhaps the libraries of the hospitals in which these physicians work will take out subscriptions, but the need for even a short trip to the library for a look at each issue will cut down on MMWR's being read.
