To the editor: I read with interest the report by Solomon and associates (1) whose patient with biopsy-proven eosinophilic fasciitis had resolution of musculoskeletal complaints with the use of cimetidine within 1 week of starting therapy.
My colleague, Anne Herron, M.D., St. Louis, Missouri, and I have recently treated a 24-year-old white woman with a typical history and physical presentation for eosinophilic fasciitis. The patient also had marked peripheral eosinophilia and a confirmatory full thickness biopsy for eosinophilic fasciitis but no diagnostic evidence for collagen-vascular diseases.
