To the editor: In July 1982 we (1) reported the association of Chromobacterium violaceum infections and underlying chronic granulomatous disease of childhood in patients who live or visit in the southeastern United States from June to September. We report two additional cases of the syndrome.
Patient 1: On 17 September 1982 a 5-year-old girl with chronic granulomatous disease, being seen at the National Institutes of Health developed chicken pox with generalized cutaneous lesions while living in Florida. The varicella lesions healed and she was able to return to school on 27th September. New pustular lesions soon appeared on the right
