The first edition of this manual appeared 4 years ago and gained acceptance among neurology residents and medical students. The book's success and rapid advances in clinical neurology appear to justify an update.
The second edition follows the style and format of the first. The authors are nine academic neurologists who completed their residency training at the Massachusetts General Hospital in 1977. The authors' common background results in a homogeneous writing style. The text is clear and readable despite the outline format.
The first part deals with major symptom complexes such as dizziness, headache, and back pain. The rest of
