An atlas should be more than a nice book with pretty pictures. This atlas is designed primarily as a working guide for general clinical pathologists, but will also interest trainees in pathology and clinicians involved in liver biopsies. There are 26 short chapters. Each includes text, references, and 2 to 4 pages of colour photographs arranged 6 to a page. Topics are conventional, although occasionally awkwardly organized. The brief text emphasizes pathogenesis and clinicopathologic correlations as much as morphology.
Both author and publisher can be lauded. The book is handsomely produced and reasonably priced. Reproduction of microphotographs is excellent. Wight's
