What lies between abetalipoprotein and the organ of Zuckerkandl?—a solid account of both common and rare clinical problems in endocrinology and metabolism. It is a remarkable feat for two authors to encompass such a wide range of topics in such depth. The book is divided into traditional sections on the pituitary, diabetes, intermediary metabolism and hypoglycaemia, obesity and lipid disorders, the thyroid, mineral metabolism, the adrenal, the gonads, and polyendocrine and paraendocrine diseases.
There is an interesting opening chapter on endocrinologic principles. Each section has a uniform format addressing the scientific basis of the subject (embryology, anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry)
