To the editor: We read with interest the article by Medsger and associates (1) on the occurrence of palmar fasciitis and polyarthritis in patients with ovarian carcinoma. We have recently cared for a woman who developed a similar paraneoplastic syndrome.
In January 1981, a 62-year-old woman received 4500 rad of external beam irradiation for an unresectable adenocarcinoma of the pancreas with metastases to peripancreatic nodes. The patient became asymptomatic within several months and returned to work.
