To the editor: Due to mistakes made after the galley proofs were corrected, the abstract of our report, "Praziquantel: A Major Advance in Anthelminthic Therapy" (1), incorrectly implies that praziquantel has been approved in the United States for the treatment of helminthic infections other than schistosomiasis. Praziquantel has been released in the United States only for the treatment of schistosomiasis, and its use for other helminthic infections, although very promising, is still investigational. Also, mistakenly deleted from our paper is the inference that metrifonate and oxammiquine, which are less expensive than praziquantel but equally effective for the treatment of S.
