To the editor: Metroka and associates (1) have reported a syndrome resembling the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome among wives of bisexual men who do not use intravenous drugs, do not have hemophilia, and are not Haitian (1) and suggest these cases are evidence for expanding the groups at increased risk for the syndrome. Although their results may support the hypothesis of transmission by a specific agent resulting in a spectrum of outcomes, caution is suggested before expanding the groups at risk to the wives or the female sexual partners of bisexual men.
