To the editor: The article by Dell 'Italia and associates (1) on physical examination for exclusion of hemodynamically important right ventricular infarction was an excellent and valuable article, but, nowhere could I find an exact description or criteria for "Kussmaul's sign." Neither is there a reference in the bibliography that I could find describing Kussmaul's sign or where the original description was published.
There are clinicians other than cardiologists who read articles like this, and I think more attention should be paid by the editorial board in seeing that adequate information is contained to make these articles readable. Adequate
