To the editor: It has become clear in recent years that funding for scientific research is unlikely to increase in the future as it has in the past. This may cause many struggling junior researchers to have difficulty in obtaining promotions based on research productivity. However, we believe that we have developed a method that will enable even a desultory researcher to compile a personal bibliography that will impress the most jaded of promotion committees. This method is described in the following prototype letter.
