The appearance of a new textbook of medicine is always greeted with caution if not frank skepticism. With so many hardy old veterans in the field, plus the soon-to-emerge capability of using your home or office computer to tap into journals, texts, and other medical data resources, one must admire the courage of the editors and publishers in embarking on such a venture.
