To the editor: A recent article by Roach (1) described a partial response to isotretinoin in a patient with metastatic malignant eccrine poroma. We recently treated a patient with this disease with the regimen described by Roach, but without response.
A 53-year-old woman developed a posterior chest wall mass in 1980 and after initial local treatment remained asymptomatic. In February 1982 she received radiation therapy for a local skin recurrence. In September 1982 she developed a further recurrence in the skin of the left breast and left posterior chest wall and was treated with additional radiation therapy and topical fluorouracil.
