During the next half-century, old people will become an increasingly prominent part of our population. We must recognize the effect of this phenomenon on the practice of medicine and develop appropriate educational resources for our students. What this country needs, then, is a good basic gerontology text.
Ham and associates have attempted to answer this call with their new book. The book includes clinical materials interspersed with study questions and case histories.
