To the editor: In a previous letter (1) we reported that a patient we had treated with mithramycin for Paget's disease of bone in 1972 was still in remission (bone scan showing no evidence of active Paget's disease in 1978 and serum alkaline phosphatase level remaining normal since therapy). A recent follow-up bone scan (2 January 1984) in this patient (courtesy of Dennis D. Patterson., M.D.: University of Arizona Health Sciences Center; Tucson, Arizona) showed no evidence of active Paget's disease, and serum alkaline phosphatase levels have remained normal.
