A refreshing, much needed new approach to tropical medicine is presented in this completely revised and rewritten book. The material digresses from the usual emphasis on epidemiology and parasitology, and is primarily directed towards clinical management of diseases by physicians either working in tropical or developing countries, or seeing patients from these areas.
The editor, in collaboration with 86 eminent specialists, presents the salient attributes of not only usual and unusual, but also the newest diseases, with current concepts of management and treatment. Cogent clinical and pathologic features are shown in over 700 illustrations augmented by numerous tables.
