Since 1976 The Faculty Of The Kellogg Centre For Advanced Studies in Primary Care of McGill University has supported scholarly activities in family dynamics. The importance of theoretical advances and the need for empirical testing and for studies of the effectiveness of clinical interventions for families have been recognized. With financial and moral support from the Kellogg Foundation to promote a family-oriented scholarly program in primary care, an interdisciplinary group led by Dr. Janet Christie-Seely has given impetus to the development and teaching of family dynamics as a basic science for those who work with families.
