In this third edition of his book, Dr. Goldberger has succeeded in succintly categorizing the electrocardiographic patterns of acute myocardial infarction and the noninfarction electrocardiographic changes that may simulate infarction, in each instance attempting to explain the changes discussed. Actually, the title may not do full justice to the contents of the book because Goldberger discusses not only Q-wave patterns, electrocardiographic changes of ventricular hypertrophy and dilation, altered ventricular conduction, noninfarctional myocardial injury, repolarization of S-T segment and T-wave changes but goes beyond, including analysis of exercise testing and false-positive electrocardiographic changes.
